The FDS (Front Drive System) was completely developed by BH. It incorporates a 250W compact motor (1) in the front wheel. The motor uses brushless technology which reduces noise, motor heating, and allows the bike to be ridden without assistance without creating additional resistance. Some models include regenerative braking.

The torque sensor (2) is located on the rear dropout of the frame. It registers the force exerted by the user and sends a signal to the control unit (3) which is on the rear rack. This then sends a signal to the motor.

The Emotion removable and rechargeable battery (5) is located on the back of the bike. Lithium Ion batteries are the latest technology available and they offer the best performance in terms of range. They perform at full capacity for 30 000km after which they suffer a reduction in performance of 20%. Various batteries are available.
216Wh (36V/6Ah) has a range up to 60km
288Wh (36V/8Ah) has a range up to 80km
324Wh (36V/9Ah) has a range up to 90km

The FDS system uses a removable LCD display (4). The bike has four progressive assistance modes. The display has a built in accelerator which after a slight push off will maintain a speed of 6km/h without having to pedal at all.
