Bosch IBS (Integrated Bottom Bracket System) Technology

BOSCH IBS TECHNOLOGYThe biggest advantage of the Bosch IBS system is that it allows the traditional geometry of a conventional bike to be maintained and a chain sensor can be incorporated to optimise assistance levels. It uses a 250W compact motor (1) which is brushless to reduce noise and heat emission.

The torque sensor (2) is in the crankset axle. It registers force exerted by the user and sends a signal to the controller (also 2) which in turn sends a signal to the motor.

The 288Wh (36V/8Ah) Bosch removable and rechargeable battery (3) is positioned on the diagonal bar of the frame. Lithium Ion batteries are the latest technology available and they offer the best performance in terms of range. They perform at full capacity for 30 000km after which they suffer a reduction in performance of 20%.

BOSCH IBS LCD DISPLAY
The removable LCD display (4) allows the rider to swap between the 12 assistance levels. There are 4 modes (Eco, Tour, Sport, Speed) each of which has 3 levels (N1, N2, N3). The system has a range of up to 100km.
